SAD! Man kills girlfriend in Masindi

Masindi: Police in Masindi are investigating the circumstances under which Cynthia Kabatangale, a resident of Kiryabyoya village in Kibweri Parish, Nakitoma, Nakasongola District, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend.
According to Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, the suspect has been identified as Benon Nuwahereza, a resident of Kayera village in Kibanjwa Parish, Kimengo Sub-county.
Nuwahereza works as a security guard at Pastor Kakande’s farm, where the incident occurred.
Hakiza said the tragic event took place on April 12, 2025. Kabatangale, a regular customer at the farm, had gone there to buy fruits and vegetables but never returned home.
‘’He suspected Kabatangale to have multiple partners, thus scuffle ensued and Nuwahereza killed her instantly,’’ Hakiza said.
Later that evening, the suspect reportedly walked into Kimengo Police Station and confessed to killing Kabatangale. He was immediately taken into custody.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
