Bududa: Police in Bududa district have apprehended a 38-year-old man for allegedly hacking his elder brother to death over land.
The suspect has been identified as Wefura Godfrey Rogers, a resident of Bumasheti Sub County in Bududa district.
The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika, explains that the incident was reported to the Bukibokolo police post on October 26, 2024, at about 8 p.m. by Mutika Sam, a resident of the same area.

This prompted the terrified three children to flee to the nearest home of Nandutu. Jennifer, who then informed others on the phone and responded but found that the deceased was already dead while the suspect had run away.
Taitika told our reporter that information spread around neighboring villages, hence pursuing the suspect and getting him while on his way to the Kaato police post in Manafwa district. The angry residents beat him up; fortunately, he was rescued shortly by police.
However, the police visited the scene, documented it, and are under investigation now.
