SAD! American tourist dies, 3 injured in Kanungu vehicle overturn
The injured were rushed to Bwindi Hospital for medical treatment, while the deceased’s body was also taken to the same facility.
Kanungu: A tragic road crash occurred today, Monday, January 27, 2025 at around 7:00 am in Kakureiju Village, Kanungu District. The accident involved a Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UAM 271U, driven by Alpha Dadaire, a 33-year-old resident of Wakiso District.
The vehicle, carrying American tourists, reportedly failed to brake while navigating a sharp corner on a slope. It lost control, rolled multiple times, and finally came to a stop at Kyeshero Bridge.
Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police Spokesperson, confirmed the crash resulted in the death of Shuldman Harrison Evan, a 40-year-old resident of New York, USA.
Three others sustained injuries in the accident: Zachary Avayou, 39, of Pennsylvania, USA, Jeremy Frederick Wright, 25, of California, USA and Alpha Dadaire, the driver, 33.

“The motor vehicle has been towed to Kihihi Police Station for inspection and further inquiries,” Kananura stated.
