SAD! 6-year-old child hacked to death in Amuru

The deceased, Rwot-olara Emmanuel, was the son of a teacher identified as Mr. Ojara of Otici Primary School in Amuru district.

Amuru:  A six-year-old boy identified as Rwot-olara Emmanuel tragically lost his life after being attacked in Owadi village, Guruguru Sub County, Amuru district.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 19, 2024, and involved a suspected hacker, locally known as Ototong.

According to Mr. Oceng Geoffrey Osborn, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Amuru, the suspect, who is still at large, lured the young boy, a Primary Two learner away from his home shortly after he had returned from school.

Reports indicate that the attacker first struck the boy against a tree before fatally cutting him at the back of the neck. The suspect fled the scene after community members raised alarms.

Mr. Oceng disclosed that as part of efforts to strengthen security in the area, plans are underway to establish a police outpost at Guruguru. Additionally, he announced the banning of local produce trade within the community, restricting it to trading centers as a security measure.
