SAD! 24-year-old man beheaded in Kagadi

Residents are urged to cooperate with law enforcement as investigations continue.

Kagadi: A gruesome murder has rocked the community of Mutunguru village in Burora Sub County Kagadi district after 24-year-old Tumuhaise Tugume was found beheaded in his compound on Monday morning.

Local authorities and relatives suspect the killing stems from a family land dispute involving his brother, Byaruhanga Tuhaise.

Reports indicate that the disagreement began when Tumuhaise sold a portion of family land to cover medical expenses for their grandfather, Rwakara Zodoki, an act opposed by Tuhaise.

Byaruhanga Bazana, another of Tumuhaise’s brothers, confirmed that the conflict had been ongoing for some time.

Hakizimana Valence, the LC3 Chairperson for Burora Sub County, condemned the act and urged peaceful conflict resolution, highlighting the need to avoid violence over disputes.

Perran Busingye, the officer in charge at Kagadi Police Station, visited the scene and ensured the body was taken to Kagadi Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Two suspects are currently in custody, though their identities remain undisclosed to protect the integrity of ongoing investigations.

Residents are urged to cooperate with law enforcement as investigations continue.
