Rwabuhinga warns public against job recruitment fraudsters

District leaders pledged to strengthen internal controls and urged the public to cooperate with security agencies to curb job-related fraud in the district.

Kabarole: Dr. Richard Rwabuhinga, the LCV Chairperson for Kabarole district has cautioned members of the public against fraudsters who con unsuspecting job seekers by promising to secure them government jobs in the district.

Dr. Rwabuhinga issued the warning while addressing the district council during a sitting held recently at the Kabarole District headquarters in Kitumba.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and report individuals who solicit money in exchange for government jobs, noting that such acts are illegal and undermine the integrity of the recruitment process.

The chairperson emphasized that all government jobs in the district are awarded strictly on merit through the District Service Commission, and not through bribery or personal connections.

Dr. Rwabuhinga made the remarks while presenting a report on the ongoing recruitment exercise aimed at filling vacant positions in the district administration.

During the meeting, Murungi Musobozi, the male councillor for Ruteete Sub-county, raised concerns about the conduct of some civil servants whom he accused of releasing official district documents to unauthorized individuals.

Musobozi questioned the integrity of the implicated officials, warning that the practice could enable fraudsters to use the documents to deceive job seekers.

District leaders pledged to strengthen internal controls and urged the public to cooperate with security agencies to curb job-related fraud in the district.
