Kampala: Hajji Yunis Kakande, the Secretary of the Office of the President, has instructed Resident District/City Commissioners (RDCs) and District Internal Security Officers (DISOs) to prevent any protests that may express dissatisfaction with the government, writes Emma M Bwayo.
While opening a capacity-building workshop for RDCs and DISOs from the Bugisu and Sebei Sub-regions at Wash and Wills Hotel in Mbale City, Kakande urged that individuals dissatisfied with government actions should avoid protests. Instead, he emphasized using proper channels to raise concerns with the government, as protests threaten peace and security.
Kakande further directed RDCs and DISOs to enforce presidential directives, particularly those related to environmental protection and the Parish Development Model.
