Private security guard shoots colleague dead

The suspect is being charged with murder and is being detained at Kikuube Central Police Station.

Kikuube: Police in Kikuube district have arrested Jimmy Oker, 33, a security guard attached to Ankar Security Limited, for allegedly murdering William Tumusiime, 36, a security guard of the same security company.

The Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, Julius Allan Hakiza, told this news portal that the duo is suspected of having developed misunderstandings.

On the fateful day, the security company supervisor, Abubarker Bintu, deployed William Tumusiime, now deceased, to guard Kizirafumbi Secondary School on June 14, 2024, at around 2 p.m.

However, the deceased reported being on duty at around 17:00 hours while armed but found one Jimmy Okar already there guarding.

On June 15, 2024, at around 8 a.m., Tumusiime was found lying on his back dead and was shot in the head from behind.

Hakiza states that it’s suspected that the duo developed a misunderstanding that led to Jimmy shooting Tumusiime, adding that the suspect is being charged with murder and is being detained at Kikuube Central Police Station.
