President Museveni to meet civilian veterans from Kagadi

Kagadi: The State Minister of Works and Transport, Fred Byamukama, has confirmed that he has secured an appointment with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to meet with civilian veterans, also known as the contact group, from Kagadi District.
This meeting has been years in the making, and Minister Byamukama is thrilled to finally bring the two parties together.
In an interview with our reporter, Minister Byamukama revealed that he had requested the President to also include opinion leaders in the meeting to provide guidance and support to the contact group.
The ultimate goal is to explore ways in which the President can assist the people of Kagadi District, who have been loyal supporters of the NRM government.
Minister Byamukama is fulfilling a promise made by his late father, Karoli Kamanyire, to organize a meeting between the civilian veterans and the President.
A total of 78 individuals, comprising 59 civilian veterans and 19 opinion leaders, have been invited to meet with the President at State House Entebbe.
The resident district commissioner (RDC), Lillian Ruteraho, has appealed to all those persons that have been tested for COVID-19 by the statehouse medical team to wait for phone calls informing them of the next course of action.
Ruteraho urged the public to refrain from politicizing the exercise, emphasizing that Minister Byamukama is committed to continuing his advocacy for the people of Kagadi District to meet with the President.
