Sebei: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has donated UGX 100 million and a drone vehicle to journalists in the Sebei region, writes Emmah Bwayo.
The announcement was made by the President during an engagement with local journalists on the sidelines of his Parish Development Model (PDM) tours in the region.
Museveni highlighted that the funds are intended to economically empower journalists, while the drone vehicle would ease their transportation to and from the field.
He also urged private media investors to prioritize the welfare of their employees.
Earlier, the President had launched several development projects, interacted with PDM beneficiaries, and met with Sebei leaders, encouraging them to intensify oversight to ensure the success of government initiatives.
Isaac Sande and William Cheptoek, two journalists from Sebei, expressed their gratitude for the donation and promised to use the funds to start self-help projects aimed at improving their livelihoods.
