Police release man who bought coffin, dug grave
He said that the suspect is apparently residing in Kabarwana Cell Central Division in Masindi Municipality.
Masindi: Police in Masindi district have released Moses Wanadi, who allegedly bought a coffin and dug a grave.
Wanadi, a resident of Zebra Bulyago 2 Cell in Karujubu Division Masindi Municipality, was arrested on Sunday, September 23, 2024, and detained at Masindi Central Police Station.
However, Evarse Uwechi, the suspect’s sister, decries his brother started behaving weird after serving four and a half years in prison over theft.
Uwechi says that their lives are at stake since Wanadi has always threatened to kill them, thus suggesting the security imprison him for their safety.
She also narrates that Wanadi always had journeys before the incident happened. Uwechi stresses that after digging the grave, Wanadi brought the coffin home, which he paid in installments.
Apparently, the grave hasn’t been covered, and the coffin is still at the police.
Solomon Asiimwe, the LC3 Chairperson for Karujubu Division, told our reporter that he was informed by the family members about the release of the Wanadi.
He said that the suspect is apparently residing in Kabarwana Cell Central Division in Masindi Municipality.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the release of Wanadi, noting that he was arrested on preventive arrest since the community was charged adding that they came in to help Wanadi not commit crime.
