Kagadi: Police in Kagadi district on Thursday handed over the ten lifeless bodies of the family members who were slain on October 29.

The tragedy that happened in Muziizi A village left the community in shock and fear after two brothers brutally attacked their family members. The incident resulted in the deaths of ten individuals, including elderly parents and young children.

A somber mood engulfed Kyaterekera Sub County in Kagadi District as security officers and residents laid to rest eight people brutally murdered by two brothers, Baguma Obed, 33, and Munyirambe David, 36, who led the “God Holy Spirit Son Man-Man” cult.
Resident District Commissioner Lillian Ruteraho urged the community to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to prevent similar calamities.
Ruteraho led the Kagadi District security team at the burial and commended the UPDF family for supporting the grieving family with 8 million shillings.
President Yoweli Museveni is also expected to offer condolences.
Kule Abeli Isagara, a relative of the victims, condemned the attack, saying it has brought shame to their clan.
The tragic incident has left only one boy and two girls in the affected family.
Seven bodies, including those of the perpetrators, were buried in their home, while two grandchildren were laid to rest in Ntoroko District and one grandchild in Kyaterekera town council.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack and the brothers’ involvement in the cult as residents grapple with the aftermath of this horrific event. The fear of further violence looms over the village, highlighting the tragic consequences of radical beliefs and familial discord.
Major Bilal Katamba from Operation Shujaa assured residents that security is stabilizing, with ongoing efforts to locate other members of the cult involved in the incident. He emphasized the proactive measures being taken by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Uganda Police, and other agencies to address the situation.
