National: The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced that it will brief the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, on the release of the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results.
The meeting is scheduled to take place today, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at State Lodge Nakasero at 2:30 pm.
UNEB has confirmed that the release date for the PLE results will be finalized and announced after the briefing.
The 2024 PLE was conducted successfully with 798,763 candidates sitting for the examinations a 6.6% increase from the 2023 PLE, which had 749,374 candidates.
Officials said the rise in candidate numbers reflected the growing enrollment in Uganda’s primary schools and underscored the importance of this examination as a transition point to secondary education.
The release of the PLE results is highly anticipated by candidates, parents, and schools across the country.
