Over ten injured in Kyenjojo bus accident

Kyenjojo: At least 12 people have sustained injuries in an accident along the Fort Portal-Kampala road in Kyenjojo district.

The accident, which occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at around 2:00 p.m. in Kaihura village, involved a Pokopoko Bus Company.

Vincent Twesige, the Rwenzori West Regional Police Spokesperson, says that the accident happened when the bus registration number UAQ 226W, which was heading to Kampala, failed to break and rammed into a parked trailer registration number CGO 7881AF/CGO2464AG19.

Police identified the injured as Pharidah Itungo, 27, Jesca Masaka 29, Muhammed Bwambale 29, Denis Vangide 29, Bashir Musisi 49, Enid Biira 40, and Florence Masika, aged 42.

Others include Tasvile Katungo, 52; Private Mision Ntalibara, 55; Vincent Musabe, 30, Nelson Masereka, 42; and John Okado, aged 36. Twesige said that these were rushed to Kyenjojo General Hospital for medical attention.
