Over 700 youth cadres commissioned in Lamwo

Lamwo: A total of 725 youth cadres from the districts of Lamwo, Kitgum, and Pader have successfully completed a 10-day intensive training program at Palabek Secondary School in Palabek Gem Subcounty, Lamwo District.
The commissioning ceremony was officiated by Engineer Hillary Onek Obaloker, the Minister of Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees, who is also the Palabek County MP.
He commended the UPDF 505 Brigade (Pajimo) for providing essential drills and training, along with the support from the local government leadership.
Minister Obaloker urged the cadres to apply their acquired skills professionally to influence and guide the younger generation toward responsible citizenship.
The Minister encouraged the youth cadres to establish Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) in their districts, fostering financial independence and economic growth.
He promised to lobby for three tractors one for each district to enhance agricultural productivity and empower the cadres economically.
“The training you have undergone is an essential step in ensuring that you are equipped to contribute positively to your communities. I urge you to lead by example and serve as role models for others,” said Minister Hillary Onek Obaloker.
Hon. Dr. Aber Lillian, the State Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees, encouraged the cadres to be active mobilizers in their communities by supporting government programs and initiatives,fighting corruption, particularly in critical sectors and addressing household-level poverty through development projects.
“I commit to following up on your progress, and I ask you to be exemplary in your actions to support development and unity,” said Minister Dr. Aber Lillian.
Lamwo District RDC Mr. Komakech William emphasized that the commissioned cadres are now part of the district’s youth league leadership, fully empowered to drive positive change in their respective communities.
