Mbale: Nyondo Secondary School was recognized as the best-performing secondary school in Mbale District during a colorful ceremony held at the Mbale District Headquarters in Malukhu/Lukhobo on Friday, December 20, 2024.
This prestigious award was presented by the Mbale District Local Government (MDLG) as part of their end-of-year celebration, which brought together workers from various departments to honor outstanding achievements in the district.
The school’s management, led by Headteacher Mr. Dismas Samuel Wandulu, was commended by the District Education Officer (DEO) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for their commitment to transforming the school’s image and promoting academic excellence.
The CAO also delivered an inspiring speech encouraging attendees to help others selflessly, sharing a personal story from his own school days to emphasize the importance of kindness.
The event was presided over by the Deputy RDC of Mbale, Mrs. Nakawala, alongside other dignitaries, including district councillors, the District Police Commander (DPC), DEO, and other civil servants.
Mr. Wandulu was specifically praised by the DEO for his remarkable efforts in transforming Nyondo Secondary School in just six months since taking office.
Other notable recognitions during the ceremony included Mulatsi Secondary School, with Headteacher Mr. Samanya Peter, for their contributions and hard work.
In the primary school category, Nabumali Day and Boarding Primary School, along with Wokukuri Primary School, were recognized for their exceptional performance in the district.
Chairman LC5 Mbale District, Mr. Muhamad Mafabi, congratulated all the institutions and individuals honored, noting that the selections were made based on comprehensive consultative research.
The event marked the culmination of the district’s 2024 end-of-year party, celebrating achievements at the Mbale District Headquarters in Malukhu.
