UG Decides 2026

Musibikha challenges opponents to speak the truth, as she continues to outshine them

“This is not about commands or conditions; it’s about love and support from the people. They believe in my vision, and they’re ready for change.”

Manafwa: The race for the Manafwa District Woman MP seat has entered its fifth day of joint NRM campaigns, with Annett Musibikha emerging as the clear frontrunner.

Despite persistent attempts by her rivals to undermine her candidacy and emotional intelligence, Musibikha’s popularity continues to surge.

Fellow candidates have launched verbal attacks in a bid to discredit her, but these efforts appear to be backfiring. In fact, Musibikha’s growing support has only been amplified by the criticism.

Her strong presence on the campaign trail and overwhelming public reception have even earned her the nickname “Money Don” — a title given by opponents who allege she is backed by the state to unseat the incumbent, Hon. Gorret Kitutu.

“I’m not here to engage in petty politics or mudslinging,” she stated during a rally in Bunyiza Town Council. “I’m here to serve the people of Manafwa District and to bring about real change.”

Her campaign style built on hope, development, and swift support for vulnerable communities has resonated powerfully with voters. Many describe her as a compassionate and action-oriented leader, in contrast to what they see as the complacency of the current officeholder.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2025, Musibikha and other contenders campaigned across Bunyiza Town Council, Bunabwana Sub County, and Bukhadala Sub County. The public reaction was electric, with chants of “Annett, Annett!” and “Our savior has come!” ringing through the crowds as she stepped on stage.

When accused by her rivals of imposing unnecessary demands on her supporters, Musibikha dismissed the allegations:

“This is not about commands or conditions; it’s about love and support from the people. They believe in my vision, and they’re ready for change.”

Polls Show Musibikha in the Lead

A public opinion poll conducted by this publication projects that Musibikha will secure the NRM flag with a commanding 50% of the vote. The other candidates trail behind will be as follows; Rose Mutonyi Masaba will secure, 35%, Hon. Gorret Kitutu 6%, Kwaga Jovia 5%, Feridah Nabafu 3%, Nakhungu Benah 1% and Nandutu Harriet 0%.

The numbers reflect widespread voter dissatisfaction with the incumbent. Many are demanding accountability from Kitutu for her years in office.

“We want to know what she’s done for us,” said one voter. “She’s been in office for years, but what can she show for it?”

The Road Ahead

As joint NRM campaigns progress, Annett Musibikha continues to gather momentum and inspire confidence among the electorate. With strong public backing and a clear message of change, she is widely seen as the candidate to beat.
