Museveni appoints assistant RDCs, their roles
She, however, said that the official list of newly appointed assistant RCCs and assistant RDCs is yet to be finalized and released.
Kampala: President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has recently appointed approximately 300 assistant Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and assistant Resident City Commissioners (RCCs).
Each district will now have the resident district commissioner (RDC), deputy RDC, and two assistant RDCs.
Similarly, cities will have a resident city commissioner (RCC), a deputy RCC, and two assistant RCCs.
While the RDCs and their deputies will focus on monitoring and supervising government service delivery, the assistant RDCs and RCCs will primarily engage in patriotism, mobilization, and fighting corruption.
Hon. Milly Babirye Babalanda, the Minister for Presidency, disclosed that the President’s Office has recruited these assistants to support activities in the RDC and RCC offices.
She, however, said that the official list of newly appointed assistant RCCs and assistant RDCs is yet to be finalized and released.
The minister clarified that the appointments currently circulating are not official, but once public service procedures are complete, a comprehensive list of successful staff will be published.
‘’The Assistant RDCs/RCCs hold the third position in the hierarchy, following the RDC/RCC (head) and the Deputy RDCs/RCCs,’’ she added.
The new appointees are scheduled to undergo a 2-week induction course at NALI Kyankwanzi in May 2024.
Minister Babalanda has issued guidelines to sensitize them as they prepare to assume their new roles.
