MP Nandala donates flour, sugar to Sironko Muslims during Ramadan

"This support comes at the right time when many families are in need. We are grateful for this act of kindness," Wazangilo said.

Sironko: In a generous act of support for the Muslim community during Ramadan, Budadiri West MP Nandala Mafabi has donated 4,000 kilograms of flour and 2,000 kilograms of sugar to fasting Muslims in Sironko District.

The consignment was delivered by Rev. Jackson Magombe, the Director of Operations and Communications in the Office of the MP for Budadiri West.

Magombe stated that the food items will be distributed among 153 mosques in the constituency, continuing a longstanding tradition by MP Nandala of supporting the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan.

“This donation is aimed at easing the burden of fasting families. We encourage Muslims to continue loving one another, respecting everyone, and maintaining their faith even after the fasting period,” Magombe said.

Sheikh Abdulhakim Mugoya, the District Kadhi of Sironko, expressed deep appreciation for the donation and urged other leaders to follow MP Nandala’s example in supporting religious and community initiatives.

“MP Nandala has consistently stood with us. His generosity reflects true leadership and care for the community,” Sheikh Mugoya remarked.

Mustafa Wazangilo, a fasting Muslim from Bukiyiti Town Council, also welcomed the support, noting that many families have been struggling to secure food for suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and iftar (evening meal) during Ramadan.

“This support comes at the right time when many families are in need. We are grateful for this act of kindness,” Wazangilo said.

As the fasting period continues, religious leaders and community members encourage more individuals and organizations to extend support to vulnerable families, ensuring a fulfilling and peaceful Ramadan for all.
