Mowing machine cuts student to death in Kitgum

Kitgum: Shock gripped students of YY Okot Memorial College in Kitgum district after a mowing machine cut their fellow to death.
The deceased has been identified as Lamwaka Hellen Benita, 18, a senior six student.
She was cut in the neck on Thursday, October 3, 2024, by the metallic blade of the mowing machine, which was being operated by a suspected mower who was clearing the school compound.
The report indicates that the student was engaged in personal reading with other students under a mango tree within the school compound when the incident occurred.

One of the staff who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that the school atmosphere is gradually calming as the school administration and the deceased’s family make arrangements for the burial.
