Mob lynches suspected motorcycle thief in Mbale
Unfortunately, he was found and killed by the mob before police could intervene.
Mbale: A 29-year-old suspected motorcycle thief, Flex Masaba, was lynched by a mob in Namashele village, Bumbobi Sub County in Mbale district.
The incident occurred after Masaba allegedly stole a motorcycle from Bubulo in Manafwa district.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, reported that Masaba was chased from Manafwa and caught in Bumbobi, where he abandoned the stolen motorcycle and fled into the bushes.
Unfortunately, he was found and killed by the mob before police could intervene.
Authorities have since taken the body to the city mortuary for a postmortem examination. Taitika urged the community to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
