Masindi mother, daughter killed, bodies dumped along the road

The deceased had separated from her husband a month ago.

Masindi: The tragic incident in Masindi has left the community in shock after Juliet Kusiime, a 37-year-old woman, and her daughter, Queen Pretty Okwir, an 11-year-old primary-five pupil at Kinyara Primary School, were found dead, their bodies abandoned along the road in Isagara cell, Isagara parish, Bikonzi Sub County.

According to Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, the woman had separated from her husband a month ago.

On Monday evening, she was last seen at a food stall around 6 p.m., carrying a food basket and reportedly heading to her mother’s home.

The mother and daughter were riding a motorcycle with registration number UFB284, which was discovered beside their lifeless bodies.

Preliminary investigations have ruled out an accident as the cause of their deaths, and suspicions now point to murder.

The bodies have been taken to the Masindi general hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
