Masindi head teacher arrested for allegedly defiling his pupils

The pupils decided to report the matter to their parents after they could no longer tolerate it, prompting their parents to report the matter to the police.

Masindi: The head teacher of Kijunjubwa primary school in Kijunjubwa subcounty, Masindi district, Nicholas Kiiza, has been arrested for allegedly defiling his pupils.

Mansur Bwohe, the Kijunjubwa subcounty chairperson, told this publication Thursday morning that Kiiza was arrested on Tuesday by police after four parents of the pupils he allegedly defiled reported the matter.

‘’He was arrested on Tuesday by police after four parents of the pupils he allegedly defiled reported the matter.’’

He adds that Kiiza has been defiling the pupils and threatening them with dismissal from the school if they revealed the matter to their parents.

However, he says the pupils decided to report the matter to their parents after they could no longer tolerate it, prompting their parents to report the matter to the police.

According to the chairperson, Kiiza was taken to Masindi police station, where he was still being detained at the time of filing this story.

The Albertine region police spokesperson, Allan Hakiza, confirmed Kiiza’s arrest and said he is currently detained at Masindi CPS on charges of defilement.

‘’It’s true, he was arrested, and he is currently detained at Masindi Central Police Station on charges of defilement, but I’m yet to get his particulars,’’ Hakiza added.

In March this year, Masindi High Court granted bail to the embattled head teacher who was on remand over alleged defilement and impregnating two pupils.

The head teacher of St. Kizito Primary School Murro in Bwijanga sub-county Masindi district, Hosea Kiiza, was granted bail after spending nearly one and a half years on remand.

Kiiza was remanded to Masindi prisons by the Masindi chief magistrate’s court in November 2022 on charges of defiling and impregnating two minors from Muuro village.

He was granted a cash bail of five million shillings on March 27, 2024, by Masindi High Court assistant registrar Juliet Nakitende after presenting three sureties who were also tagged with non-cash bail of 7 million shillings.
