The deceased went to bathe at the lake while drunk, and as he was bathing, a strong wind came and swept him.
Buliisa: The marine police on Lake Albert are searching for the body of one Julius Bihanga, 30 years old, who died by drowning at the Songalendu landing site in Buliisa district.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson, told this publication that the incident of suspected drowning occurred on the 21st of this month at around 17:00 hours on the showers of Lake Albert.
Hakiza says on the 23rd, around midday, Nelson Businge received a phone call that the deceased went to bathe at the lake while drunk, and as he was bathing, a strong wind came and swept him.
The police officer adds that the body of the deceased has not yet been discovered, thus cautioning the general public to stop going to the lake, especially during this June when the waters are hostile.
