Lamwo DPC directed to halt the movement of district vehicles beyond 5 p.m
The directive calls for the immediate implementation of the resolution unless the drivers possess relevant authorization.
Lamwo: The Lamwo Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Oceng Geoffrey Osborne, has directed the District Police Commander (DPC) to stop the movement of all district vehicles beyond 5:00 p.m. starting on July 1, 2024.
In a letter dated June 28, 2024, obtained by this publication, Commissioner Oceng Geoffrey Osborne referred to the Lamwo District Security Committee resolution from June 11, 2024.
The resolution addresses concerns over the misuse of government vehicles, particularly fuel wastage due to unauthorized travels by district staff to other districts.
He added that this misuse leads to fuel depletion and mechanical breakdowns, hampering the ability to execute duties effectively.
The RDC, who also serves as the Chairperson of the District Security Committee, directed the DPC to ensure that all Lamwo district local government vehicles refrain from driving or moving beyond the district boundary after 5:00 p.m.
This measure aims to maximize fuel utilization and enhance service delivery across the district.
The directive calls for the immediate implementation of the resolution unless the drivers possess relevant authorization.
