Lamwo authorities ban movement of government vehicles beyond 5 p.m

This directive applies to all civil servants in the district who have access to government vehicles.

Lamwo: The authorities of Lamwo District Local Government have resolved to ban the movement of all government vehicles beyond 5 p.m.

This decision was announced by the Lamwo Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Oceng Geoffrey Osborne, during an interview with our reporter on Thursday.

Mr. Oceng Geoffrey Osborne revealed that the Lamwo District Security Committee met on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, and decided that all district government vehicles should be parked at the district police station by 5 PM.

This directive applies to all civil servants in the district who have access to government vehicles. The new rule will take effect on July 1, 2024.

The RDC emphasized that this measure is intended to ensure proper use of government vehicles and enhance security within the district.

In March of this year, the Lamwo District Local Government, through the office of the Chief Administrative Officer, issued a similar directive to its staff.

This was in response to alleged cases of late reporting, irregular attendance, and absenteeism, as many personnel commute from Kitgum District.
