Koboko: The Mayor of Koboko Municipality, Dr. Wilson Sanya, has officially launched his transition from mayoral leadership to parliamentary politics, following his declaration to contest for Member of Parliament (MP) Koboko Municipality and NRM Vice Chairperson Northern Region.

To mark the first step in his political roadmap, Dr. Sanya held a special prayer session at his home in Anzizini Cell, Nyangilia Ward, Koboko South Division.

Speaking during the event, Dr. Sanya emphasized that the prayers symbolize the beginning of his journey from the mayoral position to Parliament.

“The next step will be visiting my parents for their blessings, and thereafter, I will hold my first open rally,” he stated.

He also noted that he has mentored many young leaders who are ready to take over leadership at the local government level, ensuring continuity in the municipality’s development.

Dr. Sanya highlighted that one of his key priorities is lobbying for Koboko Municipality to be recognized and upgraded to a border city, citing its strategic location and economic potential.

Wani Joseph Elly, the Mayor of Koboko West Division, credited Dr. Sanya for fostering teamwork among leaders, which has contributed to the municipality’s progress.

Pastor Margaret Angupale, the Senior Pastor of Koboko Pentecostal Churches and Chairperson of the Koboko Pentecostal Pastors’ Association, commended Dr. Sanya’s efforts in strengthening the education system and ensuring that the people remain at the center of service delivery.
