Kitgum: The National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Kitgum District is fully prepared to launch joint campaigns for all aspirants vying for party flag bearer positions, according to the District NRM Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Odongkene Cyrus.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Monday, Mr. Cyrus reiterated the party’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and orderly internal electoral process in accordance with the NRM’s primary election guidelines.
“According to the rules governing the NRM Party Primaries, all aspiring candidates are required to participate in joint campaigns. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification and referral to the NRM legal team for disciplinary action,” Mr. Cyrus warned.
He further explained that while the financing modalities for these campaigns are yet to be fully communicated, the NRM Administration Department will handle all related logistics and support.
Mr. Cyrus also issued a stern warning to candidates and supporters to strictly follow party rules throughout the campaign period, emphasizing that any misconduct or breach of regulations will attract serious consequences.
