Kitgum Municipality Council Meeting Adjourned

He indicated that the next council cycle is set to begin in October.

Kitgum: The Kitgum Municipality Full Council meeting, which was scheduled for Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, has been temporarily adjourned until the Town Clerk returns.

This announcement was made by the Kitgum Municipality Speaker, Nokrach Reagan, in an interview with this publication.

According to Reagan, the majority of the political and technical leadership of Kitgum Municipality is currently attending the Regional Budget Conference for the Greater North, encompassing the Acholi and Lango subregions, in Gulu City.

He stated that a date for the continuation of the council will be announced in consultation with the town clerk, who requested to attend the conference in person.

Kidega Patrick Paul, the Kitgum Municipality Head of Government Business and Deputy Mayor, added that the council could not proceed due to the absence of departmental heads, the Mayor, and the Speaker.

He noted that the executive has tabled 12 recommendations before the council but mentioned that only two items remain to be discussed.

Kidega indicated that the next council cycle is set to begin in October, and the date for the continuation of this meeting will be communicated soon.
