Kitgum-Kidepo road construction kicks off in FY2024/25

Nwoya: Hon. Awany Tony, the Nwoya County Member of Parliament and Vice Chairperson of the Parliamentary Physical Infrastructure Committee, has confirmed that the construction of the Kitgum-Kidepo Road will commence in the 2024/2025 financial year.
In an interview, Hon. Awany shared that the road project is currently in the procurement stage. Upon completion of this process, a contractor will be awarded the contract and will begin construction on the site.
He further assured that the necessary funds for the construction of the Kitgum-Kidepo Road have been approved and secured.
However, he emphasized that the first step of the project will involve compensating those whose properties will be affected by the construction works.
Hon. Awany reassured the public that the government is committed to starting the project and ensuring fair compensation for individuals impacted by the road construction.
