Kitara FC part ways with Coach Ssenyondo
The club’s management expressed appreciation for Ssenyondo’s contributions.
Hoima: Kitara Football Club has officially sacked head coach Brian Ssenyondo and his entire technical team, as announced in a press statement from the club’s management on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
This decision comes just months after Ssenyondo led the team to their first Uganda Cup victory, allowing them to compete at the continental level.
The official statement from the club, known as the Pride of Bunyoro, emphasized that the decision was made after careful consideration of the club’s interests and those of its supporters. “We extend our sincere gratitude to the head coach and technical team for their dedication and commitment to the club,” the statement noted.
Despite their cup success, Kitara FC has struggled in the current Uganda Premier League (UPL) season, securing only four points from six matches with a record of one win, one draw, and four losses, including three defeats at home. As a result, the team now finds itself in the relegation zone, sitting 14th out of 16 teams.
The club’s management expressed appreciation for Ssenyondo’s contributions, stating, “While this chapter ends, we honor the efforts that have helped build the foundation we continue to strengthen. The club remains focused, and steps are being taken to identify new leadership that aligns with our mission.”
Ssenyondo had joined Kitara at the start of the 2023/24 season, achieving an impressive 4th place finish with 54 points in 29 games, narrowly missing out on the title to SC Villa.
As Kitara FC looks ahead, management reassured fans, stakeholders, and partners of their commitment to keeping everyone informed as they embark on this new phase.
