Kiryandongo LC Chairpersons receive honoraria

He also implored them to seek information about PDM so they could understand and effectively monitor PDM progress.

Kiryandongo: Local councils one and two in Kiryandongo have received their annual honoraria worth 28.8 million from the government.

The honoraria were handed over by the Chief Administrative Officer to 240 local council chairpersons, each receiving 120,000 shillings.

While addressing the chairpersons who convened at the district conference hall on Friday, June 28, 2024, Dan Muganga, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Kiryandongo, urged them to prioritize monitoring of government programs in their areas, especially the Parish Development Model (PDM).

Muganga said he had received numerous complaints about extortion of money from the PDM beneficiaries by SACCO leaders and some technical staff, and he called for the attention of the local council leaders towards the program.

He also implored them to seek information about PDM so they could understand and effectively monitor PDM progress.

Edith Aliguma, the Kiryandongo district chairperson, called upon the local council leaders to take stock of all government programs in their areas and support the parish.
