Kiryandongo health centers receive medical equipment
The equipment donated will support the prevention of mother-to-child transmission services.
Kiryandongo: Baylor Uganda, with support from PEPFAR, has today donated medical equipment and IEC materials to eight Health Center IIs in Kiryandongo District.
The equipment donated includes 7 examination screens, 4 examination beds, 2 adult weighing scales, 5 infant weighing scales, 5 BP machines, 5 thermometers, 7 stadiometers, 3 fetoscopes, 6 benches, and 6 maternal retesting IEC materials.
While receiving the donation, Deputy RDC Jonathan Akweteireho commended the government of Uganda for providing an enabling environment that has eased the operations of development partners.
Akweteireho also thanked Baylor Uganda for championing the fight against infectious diseases in the district.
Edith Aliguma Adyeri, the district chairperson, appreciated the good working relationship with Baylor, which has improved the health service delivery in the district.
Aliguma also asked Baylor to consider providing support to the district, especially with medical equipment such as microscopes, delivery beds for persons with disabilities, and glucometers.
The equipment donated will support the prevention of mother-to-child transmission services at Apodorwa, Diika, Karuma, Kichwabugingo, Kiigya, Kitwara, Yabweng, and Techwa Health Center IIs.
