Kigumba Intensive SS tops Kiryandongo in 2025 UACE Exams

“I am excited about the performance of science subjects compared to arts subjects,” he said.

Kiryandongo: Kigumba Intensive Secondary School has emerged as the best-performing school in Kiryandongo District in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.

The school registered more than 120 Senior Six candidates, of whom 111 passed with three principal passes, while the rest obtained two principal passes, qualifying them for university admission.

Aromibel Kavin emerged as the best student with 19 points in BCM (Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics). She attributed her success to the support she received from the school and her parents.

“My dream of becoming a doctor is going to come true because of the school I joined in 2019,” she said.

The school’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kilama Patrick, credited the outstanding performance to strong administration and adherence to the school’s core values.

Other top performers included Francis Monday, who scored 19 points in BCM, and Ochira Michael, who also obtained 19 points in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

According to Kilama, eight students scored 18 points, while nine candidates obtained 17 points. The majority of the remaining candidates scored between 16 and 15 points.

He also noted that among the top 20 candidates, eight were girls and 12 were boys, describing the results as an encouraging sign of improvement in the performance of the girl child.

The top 10 performing schools in Kiryandongo district in the UACE 2025 are; Kigumba Intensive Secondary School, Kigumba Parents Secondary School, Blessed Comboni Secondary School Kigumba, Kiryandongo High School, Panyadoli Secondary School, Kigumba Secondary School, Kitwara Seed Secondary School, Masindi Port Secondary School, Kibanda Secondary School and Bweyale Public Secondary School.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Muhumuza Benjamin, the ICT teacher at Kiryandongo High School, expressed satisfaction with the performance in science subjects.

“I am excited about the performance of science subjects compared to arts subjects,” he said.

The Headteacher of Kiryandongo High School also applauded the candidates for their good performance in science, noting that it aligns with the government’s priorities of promoting science education.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kilama Patrick emphasized that Kigumba Intensive Secondary School’s focus on discipline and values continues to produce positive academic results.
