Kaliro boda boda rider brutally murdered, motorcycle stolen

Authorities have launched investigations to apprehend the suspects.

Kaliro: Police in Kaliro District are investigating the brutal murder of a 24-year-old boda boda rider and the theft of his motorcycle by unknown assailants.

The deceased has been identified as Bwoye Titus Kunya, a resident of Nansohera Village, Gadumire Sub-County, in Kaliro District.

The incident occurred at Takira II Village, Kasuleeta Parish, Bumanya Sub-County.

According to preliminary findings, on the evening of March 13, 2025, Kunya visited his father. While returning home around 9:00 PM, he was ambushed in a valley at Takira II Village by unidentified armed attackers.

ASP Micheal Kasadha, the spokesperson for Busoga North Police, stated that the assailants used a log to strike Kunya on the head, killing him instantly. After the attack, his body was dragged into a nearby bush before the perpetrators fled with his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration number UFB 625D.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of detectives rushed to the scene. The body was later transported to Bumanya Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination.

Authorities have launched investigations to apprehend the suspects.
