Kagadi Court remands two for defilement

Neither suspect was allowed to enter a plea, as the court lacks jurisdiction over such capital offenses.

Kagadi: Kagadi Court has remanded two men, Paul Tushabe and Bright Kayongo, to Mambugu Government Prisons on charges of defilement.

Paul Tushabe, 22, a resident of Kicucura Village in Kicucura Sub-County, is accused of defiling a 15-year-old girl on May 2, 2024.

The Court, presided over by Chief Magistrate Nazifah Namayanja, heard that the suspect committed the offense in Kicucura Sub-County.

Bright Kayongo, also 22, a resident of Nyaruziba in Kagadi Town Council, is accused of defiling another 15-year-old girl on June 22, 2024.

Neither suspect was allowed to enter a plea, as the court lacks jurisdiction over such capital offenses.

They were both remanded until August 1, 2024, when they will return to court for further mention of their cases
