Journalist Bwayo nominated for Namisindwa LC5 Chairperson seat

Kampala: Journalist and current Male Youth Councillor for Namisindwa District, Emma Bwayo, has been officially nominated to contest for the LC5 Chairperson seat in Namisindwa District under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket.
The nomination took place Monday morning at the NRM National Party offices in Kyadondo, officiated by Dr. Tanga Odoi, Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission.
While addressing nominees, Dr. Odoi emphasized the importance of compliance with all electoral laws and guidelines, urging candidates to conduct peaceful, transparent campaigns.
Speaking to the media shortly after his nomination, Bwayo outlined a transformative vision for Namisindwa District. His priority areas include; promoting value for money in public service delivery, youth empowerment and career development opportunities, equitable access to public services across all communities and a firm stance against corruption at all levels of local government.
“This is not just a campaign; it’s a mission to serve the people of Namisindwa with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to inclusive development,” Bwayo said.
Other nominees from Namisindwa District on the same day included Khalayi Peace for Woman Member of Parliament, and two candidates Wakama James and Masibo Amos both vying for the Bubulo East parliamentary seat.
Nominations for NRM party flag bearers remain ongoing and are scheduled to close on June 30, 2025.
