Introducing “Mind on the Fairway” – A Game-Changer for Uganda’s Future

Fort Portal: AFRIYEA Golf Academy, in partnership with Phil Jenkins Performance and supported by FlowCode, proudly presents Mind on the Fairway, an innovative 12-week junior golf program designed to build more than just golf skills.
Targeting 200 young players from five schools in Fort Portal, this first-of-its-kind initiative combines golf with essential life lessons, focusing on emotional and mental toughness. The program is set to shape well-rounded, resilient young leaders who can take on challenges both on and off the course.
Why It Matters: Golf is more than just a sport – it’s a proving ground for building resilience. Isaiah Mwesige, founder of AFRIYEA Golf Academy, explains, “We want these juniors to carry the strength they develop here beyond the course, into whatever life throws at them.”
Over 12 weeks, participants will tackle both on-course drills and mental conditioning, learning how to stay calm under pressure, focus, and persevere through challenges. Phil Jenkins, a performance expert known for guiding top athletes, believes golf teaches vital life skills like focus, respect, and fair play.
The Bigger Picture: Mind on the Fairway is about more than just improving swings it’s about helping kids develop the mental resilience that will serve them for years to come. Whether they’re facing a tough exam, a personal challenge, or competing on the golf course, these young athletes will walk away stronger, more confident, and ready for whatever life throws their way.
