Indian national robbed of Shs 50million in Hoima

Authorities have assured the public that efforts are underway to track down the suspects and recover the stolen property.

Hoima: Police in Hoima City are searching for two unidentified assailants who broke into the home of Indian nationals and stole Shs 50 million, smartphones, and other valuables.

Addressing journalists on Monday, Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, confirmed that the robbery took place on Sunday between 1:00 PM and 2:25 PM in Kiryatete East Cell, Hoima City.

The victims, identified as Adri Eddy and Vinod Kumar, lost smartphones, cash worth Shs 50 million, and other valuable items during the attack.

Hakiza revealed that the suspects are believed to have been armed, as a gun with four rounds of ammunition was discovered at the crime scene.

In connection with the robbery, police have arrested John Okello, a security guard attached to Radar Tech Security Company, to aid in the ongoing investigations.
