Hon. Ngompek rewards excellence during YKM tournament finals in Kiryandongo

Kiryandongo: Bweyale town was abuzz with excitement on Christmas Day as Hon. Ngompek Linos, the Member of Parliament for Kibanda North, presided over the grand finale of the Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (YKM) Tournament, writes Ronald Kundu.
Organized in collaboration with the Bweyale Boda Boda Association, the event underscored the MP’s dedication to sports, youth empowerment, and the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
The electrifying final match saw Nyakadote United FC claim a commanding 2-0 victory against Kiryandongo Hospital Boda Boda FC.
Nyakadote United walked away with a brand-new motorcycle and a glittering trophy as their reward. The runners-up, Kiryandongo Hospital Boda Boda FC, received UGX 1 million, while the third and fourth-placed teams each earned UGX 500,000.
In a gesture of inclusivity, all 28 participating teams were gifted a full set of jerseys and a soccer ball each. Referees were also appreciated with two sets of jerseys each, highlighting Hon. Ngompek’s recognition of their contributions to the tournament’s success.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hon. Ngompek, a former Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kiryandongo and a prominent supporter of President Museveni and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, emphasized the broader objectives of the tournament.
“This tournament goes beyond competition; it is a platform for building teamwork, resilience, and unity among our people. The NRM stands for empowering communities, and I am proud to support initiatives that strengthen the social fabric of Kibanda North,” he said.
The tournament’s impact extended beyond the games, fostering a sense of unity and pride among the locals. Crowds filled the streets of Bweyale in celebration, demonstrating the community spirit and camaraderie inspired by the event.
