Hoima police stuck with decomposing body

Kyahurwa immediately alerted nearby residents, who subsequently notified the police.

Hoima: Police in Hoima have recovered the decomposing body of a 20-year-old Congolese national, identified as Meshack Mumbere Mughenda.

According to Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, the body was discovered on November 17, 2024, around 1:00 PM by Christine Kyahurwa, a resident of Rusembe II West Division in Hoima City.

Kyahurwa was checking on a house under construction when she found the body lying near one of the room’s entrances.

Kyahurwa immediately alerted nearby residents, who subsequently notified the police.

The police then took the decomposing body to the Hoima City Mortuary, where it is being held pending identification and further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

This incident is currently under investigation by local authorities.
