Former Buliisa MP appointed board member of NPA

The deputy speaker added that the Committee would submit its resolutions to the Appointing Authority for further action.

Kampala: The former Member of Parliament for Buliisa constituency in Buliisa district, Steven Birahwa Mukitale has been appointed board member of National Planning Authority (NPA).

The appointment was announced by the deputy speaker of parliament, Thomas Tayebwa on his X handle.

In his post, Tayebwa revealed that  the Appointments Committee of Parliament had  interacted with the Presidential Nominees for the authority board  led by Prof. Pamela Kasabiti Mbabazi as Chairperson, Eng. Dr. Ivan Lule as Deputy Chairperson, Lydia Wanyoto, Prof. Enos M.R. Karemire, and Stephen Birahwa Mukitale as board members.

The deputy speaker added that the Committee would submit its resolutions to the Appointing Authority for further action.

When contacted, Mukitale confirmed his appointment and said he would make an official comment later.

Birahwa, who was in parliament for three terms before losing to Allan Atugonza in the 2021 elections, was once a member of the national economy committee.
