First Lady Kataha contributes Shs100 million towards the construction of Kiyoora Catholic Church

She expressed her anticipation for the completion of the church and wished the community success in their endeavors.

Kiyoora: Hon. Maama Janet K. Museveni, the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, has today contributed 100 million shillings in cash towards the completion of Kiyoora Catholic Church. Hon. Minister Janet Kataha Museveni was represented by Hon. Baata Kamateneti at the fundraising drive for the roof of Kiyoora Catholic Church.

In her address, Hon. Janet K. Museveni expressed her gratitude to the church leadership for their collaboration with the government in supporting the holistic development of local communities.

She extended her thanks to Rev. Fr. John Baptist Tumusiime and Members of Parliament Hon. Baata Josyline Kamatenneti and Hon. Benjamin Kamukama Katangura for their roles in organizing the event. Hon. Janet K. Museveni praised the congregation’s efforts in mobilizing resources to advance the church’s expansion project to the roofing stage.

Drawing parallels with the biblical figure Nehemiah, who led the effort to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, Hon. Janet K. Museveni encouraged the community to reflect on the spiritual state of Uganda’s youth.

She highlighted the challenges posed by globalization and digital technology, which have introduced foreign cultures and mindsets that sometimes conflict with traditional African and religious values.

Hon. Janet K. Museveni called on the church to address these challenges by countering negative influences and guiding the youth towards lifestyles that align with religious teachings.

She also commended the people of Ntungamo for their support of the NRM Government’s Parish Development Model (PDM), which aims to promote community development through wealth creation at the family level.

In conclusion, Hon. Janet K. Museveni expressed her appreciation for the community’s ongoing support and urged them to continue contributing to both the physical and spiritual growth of their locality.
