Kibaale: Police in Kibaale district are holding a 70-year-old man and his 18-year-old son suspected of stealing over 30 kg of pork worth 400,000 shillings.
The suspects are Musa Genge, the father of Isingoma Kapey, and all residents of Ntutuma village in Rwega parish, Bubango Sub County, Kibaale district.
Jimmy Kugonza, who owns a pork joint in the Rwebisarare trading center in Bubango, told this news portal that these suspects broke into the store last night and that this is not the first time thugs are stealing pork from the same joint.
This prompted him to report the case at Kibaale Police Station, which deployed a sniffer dog that led the police officers to the home of Musa, leading to their arrest.
It is alleged that the duo connived with Senkayi, aged 24, who is currently in hiding.
A section of angry residents were demanding the police hand them the suspects so that they could face mob justice, which was not possible as other residents were pleading that Mzee Musa was innocent.
By the time we published this story, the police had not yet commented on the matter.
