Fallen Lady Doves FC CEO Angeyango eulogized as hardworking, committed leader

She lived an admirable and legitimate life,” he added.

Masindi: Scovia Angeyango, 35, the late Chief Executive Officer of Lady Doves FC and teacher at Greenfield Secondary School, has been eulogized as a hardworking, committed, and selfless individual who served both the football and education sectors with dedication.

A requiem mass in her honor was held on Tuesday evening October 14, 2025 at Masindi Stadium. Angeyango passed away on Sunday due to high blood pressure while being rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for specialized care.

Delivering a message through James Komunjara, Julius Mugisa, the Director of Doves FC and Lady Doves FC, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Angeyango as his pillar in both business and football.

“She has left me at the time I needed her most. I feel like I’ve been left in the wilderness. Together with Club Manager Godfrey Nsingwire, she was my defender, business partner, and source of hope. Her passing is a heavy blow to the football fraternity,” Mugisa said.

He praised her as kind, hardworking, generous, respectful, focused, result-oriented, and above all, a trusted human being. “She lived an admirable and legitimate life,” he added.

Rogers Byamukama, Bunyoro FUFA Delegate, highlighted the growing list of recent losses in the regional sports community, including Hamidu Kasinde and former Bunyoro Kingdom Minister for Sports, John Baguma.

“As a sports fraternity in Bunyoro, this is yet another heavy loss. Scovia was disciplined, committed, and passionate about sports in Uganda. Her future in the sports sector was incredibly bright,” Byamukama said. He urged the public to regularly monitor their health, citing the dangers of untreated high blood pressure.

Joab Businge, MP for Masindi Municipality, offered his condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues. He also commended Julius Mugisa for empowering Angeyango and giving her a platform to serve and inspire.

“She was given an opportunity to lead and she made the most of it. This is why we must continue supporting the private sector, it plays a vital role in nurturing talent and leadership,” the MP said.

Godfrey Mbabazi, Deputy Head Teacher at Greenfield SS, expressed the school’s grief over the loss of one of their most dedicated staff members.

“She was deeply committed to her work, serving with passion, purpose, and integrity. Scovia touched many lives with her dedication and kind spirit. Her professionalism, positive energy, and tireless efforts will be remembered by all who knew her,” Mbabazi said.

Scovia Angeyango will be laid to rest on Wednesday October 15, 2025 in Kyabaswa Kichope village, Mirya Sub-county, Masindi District.
