He pledged that they would continue with other processes to elect new executive committees for Ker Kwaro Acholi.

Kitgum: The Aswa East Regional Police on Friday, June 14, 2024, cancelled the election of the new Ker Kwaro Acholi executives under Rwot Apire Richard Santos’ faction.

Speaking to the press on Friday afternoon, Aswa East Regional Police Commander, ACP Anatoli Katungwesi, stated that they held a joint meeting with the faction headed by Rwot Apire Richard Santos.

They reached a mutual agreement based on gaps identified by security to ensure a peaceful meeting, which was initially scheduled to take place at Acaki Lodge in Kitgum Municipality.

He added that the meeting resolved to postpone the purported election until other conditions were met.

Katungwesi also refuted circulating news on different social media platforms about the arrest of Rwot Apire Richard Santos, clarifying that nothing of that sort had happened.

Rwot Apire Richard Santos, the clan chief of Atiak, confirmed that they had a mutual agreement to adjourn the meeting and the election exercise.

He pledged that they would continue with other processes to elect new executive committees for Ker Kwaro Acholi.
