Kasese: Over five elder groups in Kasese Municipality have received goats from Mr. Leonard Imanishimwe, the Executive Director of the Uganda Youth Forum, with the aim of boosting the group members’ economies.
Some of the benefiting groups are in Kidodo Cell Railway.
While handing them the donation Tuesday evening in Kidodo Cell, Railway Parish, Mr. Imanishimwe said the donation was to help the members boost their economy through animal rearing.
He encouraged the group members to embrace new methods of farming, especially in urban centers, for example, zero-grazing, among others.
He also donated a Christmas food package to each group member, including rice and other food items, saying the elderly needed to be taken care of.
Mr. Imanishim We used this platform to appeal to the youth, both girls and boys, during this Christmas season to desist from acts that may affect their life span.
Sharif Masereka, the LCI chairperson, Kidodo, commanded Mr. Imanishimwe for the donation and requested that he always support the elderly in implementing income-generating projects to support them.
Mr. Peter Bwambale, the chairperson of the Kidodo elderly group, who appreciated the donation, noted that the project would answer most of their long-waited questions about income generation in their group.
