DFCU Bank donates UGX 6 million to Kisoro Emyooga SACCO Forum

Kisoro: In a bid to give back to the community, DFCU Bank Kisoro Branch has donated UGX 6 million to the Kisoro District Emyooga SACCO Forum to support the purchase of a motorcycle that will help the group reach hard-to-access areas while implementing their activities.
The handover ceremony was held at the Resident District Commissioner’s (RDC) office, where Deputy RDC Dan Ndikumwami commended DFCU Bank for its continued commitment to community empowerment through impactful initiatives.
Ndikumwami noted that the bank’s support aligns with the government’s broader goal of eradicating household poverty through programs such as Emyooga, which promote savings, investment, and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.
“As government continues to fight poverty through various development programs, we commend DFCU Bank for partnering with us to empower communities. The bank’s support toward Emyooga demonstrates true cooperation in driving poverty eradication efforts,”
said Ndikumwami.
Mfitumukiza Victor, the Chairperson of the Kisoro District Emyooga SACCO Forum, expressed gratitude to DFCU Bank for the donation, assuring that the funds would be used appropriately.
He revealed that the forum has been facing challenges in reaching remote areas due to a lack of transport, noting that the motorcycle will greatly improve mobility and enhance service delivery to the community.
On behalf of DFCU Bank, Ms. Arinda Katugunda, the Branch Manager of DFCU Kisoro, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to transforming lives and businesses across Uganda while fostering sustainable community development.

said Katugunda.
She also commended the Kisoro District Local Government for maintaining a strong working relationship with DFCU Bank, emphasizing that such partnerships are vital for delivering impactful services to the people.
