Op-Ed

Coffee Bill and generation of cowards who urinate in small buckets at night

Now that the NRA offspring, concubines, family, relatives and friends are rich and the country is broke.

Op-Ed: I am not sure if the men who susu in buckets at night do it while squatting like women or standing. But one thing I am sure is that they are cowards.

They get irritated with the noise of their urine falling in an empty bucket and prefer to lift the bucket a bit and bend it in order to hit in the side walls of the bucket so as it is not very loud for family members and neighborsto hear their urine shots.

My friends who are bucket masters have always told me that they urinate in buckets for security reasons. That when they enter into their houses, they prefer not to give their enemies a chance to hurt or even kill them. Who the hell the enemies of my friends are and why they would prefer killing them in the night, I don’t give a damn! I have seen people who have serious enemies in this country get killed during broad day light.

Last month, Uganda celebrated its 62nd independence day. The bitter and unpleasant truth is that the generation of men who urinate in buckets could never have led this country to independence from the British. This crop of men cannot completely risk to go to the bush and fight for their personal goals like Mzee Tibuhaburwa who prides himself upon leading NRA rebels in Luwero Jungles.

During the independence national breakfast prayer at State house on October 9th, while calling on religious fundamentalists to exhibit tolerance towards one another, President Tibuhaburwa revealed to the nation that witchcraft helped NRA to capture Kampala.

Mzee said that witchdoctors and ritualists would slaughter chicken every early morning and make the NRA fighters to jump over it three times so as to get the magic shields against live bullets. Most of the Christian leaders who were present there still believe that leadership comes only from the God of Israel.Well, I do not intend to claim that NRA captured power using charm nor do I mean that the yellow leadership is under black magic vision.

My point is that the secret to liberty is the courage to stand for something and be seen, and be counted. The disgruntled coffee farmers who have dominated the news this week, have their chance in 2026 to reject handouts and faceoff with whoever they think betrayed them in the house of deals located at plot number 13-15 Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road.

Similarly, like President Tibuhaburwa said in his last Thursday night speech, I am equally embarrassed by the noise about the Coffee Bill especially the merging of UCDA with the Ministry of Agriculture. UCDA among other Authorities were created by NRA to give their offspring an opportunity to rob Uganda with impunity and get rich immorally. Their fathers did the same when they captured power and sold all state parastatals to themselves under the guise of privatization.

Now that the NRA offspring, concubines, family, relatives and friends are rich and the country is broke, it is tactically acceptable to disband the outfits. The president was very clear that the fellows in these authorities (who he picks by himself) have been siphoning a lot of money inform of salaries, allowances, airtime, medical insurance, Perdium, Miscellaneous etc. and uselessly spending it on pork, alcohol, shisha, perfumes, birthdays, baby showers, Viagra, Mulondo and Energy drinks.

Very careless behaviors that endangers their own health and throws the country into another burden to fly them abroad for massage and medical care.
