Chil Group, Reckitt join forces to boost hygiene education in Ugandan schools
The goal is to instill healthy hygiene habits and foster sustainable changes that benefit schools, communities, and children in the long term.
Birmingham: Chil Group, a leader in health and hygiene innovation, has announced an expanded partnership with Reckitt, the global company behind household brands such as Dettol, Harpic, and JIK.
Building on their collaboration through Reckitt’s WINFUND program in 2023, this strengthened alliance focuses on improving hygiene and health education for schoolchildren in Uganda and across Sub-Saharan Africa.
At the heart of this partnership is the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program, an initiative aimed at revolutionizing hygiene practices in schools by providing improved facilities and impactful hygiene education.
The program will initially reach 1,500 schools in Uganda, with plans to expand across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The goal is to instill healthy hygiene habits and foster sustainable changes that benefit schools, communities, and children in the long term.
Reflecting on this collaboration, Dr. Shamim Nabuuma, Founder of Chil Group, emphasized: “Reckitt has been a game-changer for us. Their support in 2023 gave a big boost to our telemedicine projects. Now, this renewed commitment with the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program allows us to tackle a key challenge related to hygiene education for school-aged children. Together, we will educate, empower, and inspire school children, instilling healthy hygiene habits.”
Empower children aged 5–8, teachers, and families with practical hygiene knowledge, promote habits that lead to healthier communities, improve hygiene facilities to ensure a cleaner and safer environment for learning.
This partnership merges Chil Group’s innovation in healthcare with Reckitt’s extensive experience in hygiene and health education. Both organizations are dedicated to delivering tangible, long-term benefits to Ugandan communities and beyond.
